Starting her writing career at the age of forty-seven, the creation of "Krndija" has not only been a journey of learning but also one of personal discovery for Ms. Kremer. Growing up in the Midwest, she was only vaguely aware of her own roots. Not until being drawn into the tale of "Krndija" did she associate the music, traditions, and characteristics of her own childhood to be not just Midwestern, but Germanic as well. Ms. Kremer now lives in New York with her husband and two children. Her main interests apart from literature are gardening and travel. She has made several visits to Austria and Croatia and hopes to someday visit Luxembourg, the home of her ancestors.
